HSC is the acronym for high-speed cutting; HSC milling thus means high-speed milling using very high speeds and feeds. In order to prevent the shearing forces from increasing beyond acceptable rates, very small cutting depths are used. The benefits of HSC are low shear forces, less heat build-up, and better surface qualities versus conventional milling methods.
